After born in Mannheim, Germany, I grew up in the small village of Ladenburg with fields and small gardens around me.
In my earliest years I was attracted by the nature and art and I have been painting since my childhood.
I am self-employed and started my first exhibition in 1996 at German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) Heidelberg.
My work was noticed, I was invited and commissioned to do four botanical paintings at a vinery in Stellenbosch, South Africa. While there I visited the Botanical Garden Kirstenbosch in Capetown.
Later on, I started to tavel every year to different countries like Greece, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland and France searching for new plants and objects for my paintings.
Presently, I am a collector of a numerous photos for my paintings and art works.
I do my paintings with oil on canvas and mostly blown up on large frames.
By focusing on the plant morphology, from the plant photos I have taken, I try t create a composition that integrates the objects with each other and leaves a lasting effect of each of aesthetic expressiveness on the viewers.
I also intend to draw the attention of the viewer on the plants, environment and protection of the botanical diversity.
It is very important for me to be attracted by the object I want to paint.
My work was exhibited at number of galleries including:
Galerie C.Klein, Darmstadt (Germany), WWF Schweiz, Bollwerk, Bern (Switzerland), Galerie Regula Brun, Luzern (Switzerland) and Maison de Heidelberg, Montpellier (France).
The buyers of my art are private, governmental and non-governmental institutions.
I am a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA), the Botanical Art Forum Thüngersheim (Germany), Culture Institute Vahle Darmstadt (Germany) and the GEDOK Mannheim/Ludwigshafen (Germany)
